Greg’s Birthday Gathering
Tonight, I had to be honest with Nancy. I’m still here, so I told her not to break down when she’s hugging me. Seriously, I’m not at all equipped to handle this! I can deal with the fact that I have cancer, but those emotions… that doesn’t mean I don’t care for all of you out there who think that dogs don’t have feelings. My role will be to encourage her to play her instruments, specifically the saxophone and bassoon, more frequently. Actually, when she plays now, I certainly understand her better than her jibber-jabber. Anyway, I don’t worry, and Nancy has been listening to an excellent podcast series about not worrying. So, why is she crying when I’m still here?
Here’s a few days after I started this blog, and I have a few things to share. We (yes, I helped provide emotional support) threw Greg a massive family birthday party this past Saturday. She wanted me to share that while she intended to invite all my blog readers, our home simply couldn’t accommodate everyone. Consequently, she decided to keep it a family-only gathering this time. Okay, so there are a few family members who read my blog, but not many. From a dog’s perspective, the party turned out to be an unexpected success. How do I assess this? Well, there were many pleasant people, both elderly and young, and the children undoubtedly brought a lot of energy, laughter, and boundless affection. Adorable Lucas remembered me from his last visit and we picked up on our connection from his last visit. I never forget those that tend to gravitate toward me!

I was delighted when my blog hosts, Andy and Alicia, arrived with their French Bulldog, Brioche. Not only did I get a chance to relax from all the attention, but I also got to share in the attention from everyone.

Congratulations to Greg, and thanks for all the photos!
By the pictures it appears to have been a wonderful celebration. Happy Birthday Greg! You are but a youngster so hope you are appreciating the fact that you are still a lot younger than SOME of us! My birthday was also on July 11th and I had a small party at my house with my niece and her family, who brought and cooked dinner, cleaned everything up and made the evening very special for me. Since it’s my 86th birthday I hope you will appreciate my wisdom (or lack thereof) and the fact that Greg is still a LOT younger! Every day is a gift as Harmony always alludes to and hopefully we can always keep that thought. I fail at ALWAYS keeping it but I keep trying. Be cool and happy!
