Somedays, I need a little help to encourage Nancy with her tasks at hand in this life. I was delighted that she read the verse, “Let’s not grow weary of doing what is good. At the right time, we will reap a harvest of blessings if we don’t give up.” (Galatians 6:9, NLT) It served as a timely reminder. While I’ve made it clear that I won’t discuss religious or political topics in my blog, I simply can’t ignore them today because my companions are who they are. Besides, I am doing everything in my power to courageously and realistically walk through my diagnosis of cancer.
Nancy has her own theory about why dogs have shorter lifespans compared to humans. We dogs love unconditionally and fiercely love the humans we are assigned to.We don’t spend a lifetime figuring out and becoming wiser to the lessons of getting along with people. Humans don’t seem to have that natural way to love unconditionally, so many take years to figure out such simplicity. Many miss that simple lesson because they over think and then, miss the obvious. It is Nancy’s theory, not mine. I would never be so rude to insinuate that you humans are this or that, but Nancy would. (Sorry Nancy!)My only fear is that I think Nancy still doesn’t understand the simple lessons in life, enough! While I know that she has the proper resources to survive without me, I fear, she will forget such simplicity. Now, I need her to put all the lessons that I have taught her into action to help me in my older age and this cancer journey. I believe we’ve got this!
