Nancy, who believed she had her schedule memorized without relying on a datebook, witnessed her aging process unfold before my eyes. We entered the vet clinic, expecting a recheck for my swollen lymph nodes glands. However, the receptionist informed us that Dr. J. was unavailable that day. My initial excitement to see my vet Dr. J. quickly turned into embarrassment for Nancy, but I was relieved that I might have avoided further examination. At least, until the same time this coming Monday.
Last night, there was a bit of excitement in our neighborhood. We were already in bed when we heard some loud bangs. Although we don’t live in a dangerous neighborhood, it’s one that knows how to celebrate a cool high school graduate. Nancy walked over much earlier to congratulate Ava. Unfortunately, I was not permitted to accompany Nancy this time. In fact, Nancy mentioned that their adorable dogs were nowhere to be found either. I suppose they were worried that their cute dogs would overshadow the celebration of Ava? No way, she is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet.

It was refreshing to hear the laughter and chatter of the neighbor’s party, even though I wasn’t invited.

I get it. The aging process happens here, too. I golfed an entire round yesterday and literally forgot to put on my glove. I’ve never done that before. The excitement of golfing with my daughter, Lindsay, may have been why, honestly I blame my age. So I get it!
