Remembering My Friend, Miche!

Remembering My Friend, Miche!

Today, I’m sharing a beautiful tribute that Alicia and Andy (my web hosts) shared with me when they lost their beloved Miche. I had the pleasure of meeting Miche once, and he truly radiated joy.    Below, is the writing that Alicia wrote about Miche.     Thank you for allowing me at least one day with Miche.

“Some candles burn fast and bright. Our sweet boy Miche was one of them.    He was only with us for 2.5 years, but in that time, he filled our lives with more love & personality than we could have ever imagined. He was playful, stubborn, affectionate, and our little shadow everywhere in the house, always needing to know everything about what we were doing.
Miche also faced more than his fair share of challenges. He struggled with severe seizures and complications that we worked really hard to manage. At the end of the day, his condition was what the neurologists called refractory, meaning that it didn’t respond to medications. We tried everything we could throw at him, and got all of the tests (spinal tap, MRIs, etc) to try to “solve” the problem.   Two weeks ago he ended up back in the hospital, as he has done several times before. This time, though, his condition got worse instead of better and it became clear that we just couldn’t fix him, no matter how badly we wanted to.

Saying goodbye to him was one of the hardest things we’ve ever had to do. But we know we gave him everything we could, and he went to sleep surrounded by love and devouring a giant pup cup.

We will miss him deeply, but we will carry that light with us always. Forever our boy Miche
