When we woke up this morning, I knew the sunrise would be incredible! From our kitchen window, we were treated to a breathtaking view of a stunning orange base adorned with subtle hints of pink in the clouds. Amidst the numerous camera shots, I managed to stay focused and eat my breakfast without getting distracted. I was quite surprised that after her stunning shots of the sunrise, the sky completely clouded over.

I suppose it’s all good because Nancy will continue her house cleaning on this gloomy day. Yesterday, we cleaned some rugs and my numerous dog blankets at the laundromat. After meeting an adorable Latino family who didn’t speak any English, Nancy suggested that we learn some Spanish. Their three-year-old daughter was incredibly adorable. She giggled and smiled as she greeted me. I was disappointed that they didn’t stay long after simply exchanging coins for change. Although they used a translation app to communicate with us, their smiles and body language conveyed more than words ever could. So, that’s all I have to report, except to encourage Nancy to learn Spanish.
Once again, I want to emphasize that communicating with a dog is remarkably similar to the language of music. Music conveys so much without using words. Similarly, we dogs express ourselves in a way that requires no real translation for those who understand us. For this reason, I love living with my companions, one of whom is a musician. Nancy never tries to make me understand because she doesn’t need to. As I’ve said before, our eye contact is our other language, and it goes without saying that one musical note can convey the same message.
To think that this blog all started with a gorgeous sunrise!
