Easter Weekend! April 4, 2026

Easter Weekend! April 4, 2026

Today, I can already sense that it’s going to be an amazing day!  First, Nancy drank only a cup of leftover coffee. Then, she put on her “everyday” clothes. My understanding is that when she was  a farm girl, “everyday” clothes were essentially the same every single day for a week. They were usually the clothes she changed into after a day of school or church. She said her favorite were her overalls that she liked wearing when she practiced saxophone in the milkhouse.     Now, her everyday clothes are simply sweats and a loose sweatshirt, perfect for our walks.
Despite the gloomy Saturday before Easter, we’re determined to celebrate tomorrow. Besides, I’ve  been promised a long run or walk after I finish writing this blog. The maple tree outside our living room window is budding, though it’s currently dripping with a light rain.  Sorry, I keep dozing off while writing this blog.   Don’t judge me because most dogs don’t have any specific tasks beyond walking, sleeping, eating, and repeating the cycle. I’m feeling so lazy that I’ve been reviewing old blogs from as far back as 2016 to use.
Did you know that the dog blogs started way back when Apple still had iWeb.  Yes, back then, they were written by Calvin and Allegro and sometimes by Eve,.  They were all former standard poodles who lived at this home.   I wonder if any of my readers go back and read the old blogs?  Nancy has told me that she should save  those first blogs in her safety deposit box because they are note stored anywhere right now. Some people worry about storing their money, while we treasure precioius memories.
Back to Easter, while I may not be a preacher, I do understand that my humans celebrate Jesus’s life and teachings every day, not just on Easter. She emphasizes that attending church on Christmas and Easter is not merely a seasonal activity; it is a daily mission.   Happy Easter!
