This week all that ice and snow are melting around our house. I stand at the edge of our driveway, watching Nancy throw large chunks of ice to break them apart. Why doesn’t she simply let them melt slowly instead of rushing the process? I suppose I shouldn’t complain because I’m eager to shed this winter coat and I want it done NOW! Instead of watching woodturning videos with Greg, she could be grooming me on the grooming table. Besides, she doesn’t need to use any mounting device for me on the table. I’ve already mentioned that she wants to learn how to turn wood. I hope this new hobby allows me to watch her in the garage.
While the weather is warmer this week, I believe there’s also a chance of rain in the forecast. Photos of me with the gray landscape would actually be pretty cool, don’t you think? OK, no I won’t be doing any selfies, but I can nudge Nancy to take some today. A gray sky is only a curtain for you to see inside this poodle’s heart which is full of color, even though I am mostly color blind. A gray sky helps my lushess black coat stand out more in photos. (See photo) A gray sky allows one to take photos without setting them to black and white, etc. I will stop now.

What would you humans say about gray skies? I asked Nancy and I suppose you can imagine she went on and on about how she loves rainy days and of course, gray skies. She said, “Gray skies are necessary for us to realize that we don’t need sunshine in order for us to be cheerful. In fact, I always like gray days more for practicing saxophone or bassoon.” What does that have to do with practicing? I pondered this for awhile until I was relieved that I am a dog and not a therapist or psychiatrist.
Oh, did mention that gray skies are perfect for naptime?! See you in my dreams!
