January 25, 2026

For the past few days, the weather has been extremely cold. Can you even  imagine the frustration of not being able to play fetch  outside for a few days for a dog?  Then, it does not make it any better when Nancy tries to play fetch indoors.  I should have mentioned  that my paw nails need to be ground too.  So, slipping and sliding on the wood floor is not my idea of fun indoors.

We did watch a good movie called “Coda.” I thought I’d suggest something if you’re also stuck at home. I suppose that’s preferable to assembling a 1000-piece puzzle. Besides, my paws are too clumsy to handle puzzle pieces. Us dogs are quite independent, so during this freezing cold, I let my companions do their own thing while I simply enjoyed watching them. Nancy made new address labels and business cards, even including my blog information on hers. She mentioned that, although it’s not part of her music lessons, she wants people to know that she’s not just a musician anymore! I suppose you’re supposed to understand what that means?

I’m curious to know what my blog readers do during the bitter cold weather. For those of you in warmer locations during the winter, what are your activities when it rains is too hot?  By the way, it didn’t help Nancy’s diet to make a few batches of homemade caramel corn for some friends and family. Sure she gave a lot away and I suggested  she better get rid of all of it.  Otherwise, there goes her calories for some of those days (not to mention sugar intake).  Still the same old dog treats though, just saying!   Oh no, I can’t believe I am starting to say what my humans say now…just saying!

Happy Birthday, Mike!  Some of this caramel corn is being saved for you!
