Looking Forward to Autumn, Day 2, October 4, 2025

It’s fortunate that we took our walk before noon today. The weather forecast predicts a high temperature of 86 degrees Fahrenheit in Minnesota on October 4th. This aligns with my second day of “Looking Forward to Autumn,” a celebration of the beauty of autumn walks. While I enjoy walks anytime, I particularly relish observing the ever-changing color palette during our walks, as no two days offer the same breathtaking canvas.
One new development is the paving of a walk pathway near our home with fresh asphalt. While I wish they had installed a sidewalk along the lake nearby, the current situation is acceptable.   The fresh breeze from the lake is an added bonus when we choose that walk.   I suppose I could write numerous blogs about the advantages of walking with my humans (or anyone else, for that matter).  While Nancy often listens to podcasts or music, I prefer when she talks to me or prays out loud. Since we’re both aging, we don’t walk as briskly as we used to. However, that certainly doesn’t diminish the benefits of our walks.
We didn’t discuss the possibility of me being groomed this weekend, so I won’t bring it up. She had planned an adventure for Greg, but his ailing back and the “no dogs allowed” rule abruptly detoured the plan. You already know the story: not all dogs are well-behaved like me. I wish I could attend live concerts that Nancy attends. I suppose they’re concerned that dogs might bark if people were being rude during the concert. After all, most dogs are far better listeners than humans, and we could even train some people to be more attentive during performances.

I hope you can go for a walk today, whether you’re accompanied by someone or not.
