August 23, 2025, Waiting Room Encounters
When I get into the car, I’m often left wondering where our journey will take us. So, yesterday when we arrived at a medical building, it was just like any other day. Now, Nancy doesn’t even bother to ask if I can accompany them to certain places. No one has ever questioned us when I prance by. However, on the way out to the car yesterday, a woman walked past us with an angry look, and Nancy said to her, “Don’t worry, she doesn’t bite!” That aside, we proceeded to the third floor in the elevator. Not sure why, but I am not a fan of elevators.
Once we reached the designated room, Greg checked in for his scheduled MRI. Nancy, on the other hand, approached the people waiting for their appointments to inquire about the possibility of having a dog in the waiting area. While she might not usually ask such questions when we first enter a building, her politeness shines through at our final destination. We were rather surprised at people’s interest in who I am. Of course, I’m never surprised when Nancy gives credit to my breeder, Jill about my behavior and beauty.

But, I must tell you about this charming and jolly older gentleman in the waiting room. He was accompanied by his lovely daughter. He wore a very cool hat, and when Nancy complimented him on it, we were treated to an interesting story. This man had purchased the hat in 1979 and had worn it to various places, including South Africa, Alaska, and many others. He shared that he was planning to buy the same hat for his grandchildren, who also loved it. The hat is from Filsons and is called the Tin Cloth Packer Hat. I believe I know a future store where we might visit to purchase this hat for Greg.
