“Sometimes,’ said Pooh, ‘the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.”  A.A. Milne’s quotes continue to resonate with me because his simple wisdom is incredibly profound.  For instance, before I have my morning meal, Nancy looks into my eyes and exclaims, “You are such a good dog, Harmony!”  It isn’t just what she says to me, it is her love for me I see in her eyes.   Reflect on the most special moments in your life and recall the eye contact you shared during those times.   Obvioulsy I am not a fan of cell phones because I think they distract from eye contact.

While I may not fully understand Nancy’s most special moments in relation to certain musical moments, I believe I can relate to them.   Nancy believes that, just like eye contact, a musical moment can be cherished for a lifetime.   For instance, during a rehearsal of a piece  composed for  Nancy by her friend Michael, she experienced such overwhelming emotions that she momentarily paused to capture her tearful moment.  I wouldn’t necessarily  call them “aha moments” because they leave an imprint of one’s heart for a lifetime.  Then, I had to hear all about her Ewa Podleś moments.  She was featured with the SPCO one concert and when she sang, Nancy was in awe of her voice.

A  book on  Pooh’s saying, “Sometimes, the smallest things take up the most room in your heart”  could be written.   Each of you could write your own book.    Write down those precious moments to savor when you need little reminders.
