Happy Independence Day, Happy 4th of July!
Since last week, I’ve been delving deeper into the history and significance of July 4th, or Independence Day. While we don’t celebrate birthdays in a grand manner at our household, it seems fitting that fireworks are set off on the birthday of America, which commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence almost two and a half centuries ago.
I suppose parades are a tradition in many towns on July 4th. According to Nancy, it was a significant event in her small town throughout her childhood. The celebration would begin with a grand parade, followed by a festival featuring a quilt auction, a splash tank, bingo, and numerous other booths. I must admit, I’ve never been to a parade before. By the sounds of it, I suppose I could one day not only attend a parade but also aspire to be the grand marshal? I know, I have a lot of confidence instilled in me from everyone I’ve lived with over the years.

I do like a former President’s quote “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country” by John F. Kennedy. My contribution to this country is to keep my blog running, which helps everyone maintain a positive outlook and serve others with kindness.
Happy 4th of July! Happy Independence Day!
