June 19, 2025 Dentist and Birthday

This past week, I had the privilege of meeting one of my blog readers for the first time. I was relieved to learn that I wouldn’t be meeting him in the dentist’s chair. Instead, I was able to sit in the lobby and he greeted me between patients.  For privacy reasons on the internet, I will refer to my dentist as Dr. L.   Not only is he a marvelous dentist, Gretchen, his dental hygienist  is exceptional as well!   How many dentists do you know that allow the dogs to sit in their lobby?  Hello, that is my human’s cool dentist!   It was obvious to me that the clinic’s receptionist and office managers didn’t really want me there, so I made sure not to make a peep in the lobby until my enthusiasm erupted upon meeting Dr. L. and Gretchen.

I don’t think I should be telling you this, but Nancy attempts to clean my teeth. Surprisingly, I don’t mind because sometimes I can’t even tolerate my own breath.
At my last Vet visit, I heard her tell Dr. J that she would have my teeth professionally cleaned this next year.  What a way for me to have nightmares?   Wait, what would Winnie the Pooh say about that, or rather his friend, Piglet.   Piglet tells Winnie the Pooh when he is anxious, “ I can’t make those anxious feelings go away, not really, but I can promise you that all the time I have breath left in my body, you won’t ever need to feel those anxious feelings alone.”   Isn’t that so sweet!
Gosh, maybe that’s why I accompanied Nancy to her dentist appointment? Thank you so much, Dr. L and Gretchen, for allowing me to join Nancy. I don’t believe she’s particularly anxious about the dentist (unless she’s getting a crown on a tooth), but I wanted to meet Dr. L and Gretchen. Just look at their smiles! My intuition is quite accurate about people, and I instantly knew they were lovely individuals!
I hope all my readers have their support systems in place to help them manage anxiety. It could be a pet or another human. Please be there for each other, no matter what!
I almost forgot, it is Alicia’s birthday today.   Happy Birthday, Alicia!  She is the reason I am able to do my blog with WordPress because she is a web whiz, along with her cool husband, Andy!    We love you both and hope you have an incredible birthday weekend!    Hope to see you soon along with your cool dogs!
