June 9. 2025 “What day is it?” asked Pooh.
This summer, I’ve already met some really cool dogs during our walks. Of course, their companions are amazing too, but how often do I get to meet other dogs to play with? I suppose I should have Nancy take photos of all these encounters, but that would take away from living in the moment, wouldn’t you think? Allow me to quote A.A. Milne, “What day is it?” asked Pooh. “It’s today,” squeaked Piglet. “My favorite day,” said Pooh.” And so it is when I go on walks with Nancy. We live in the moment!
I don’t believe anyone is ever too old to read more of A.A. Milne’s quotes. In fact, today is going to be a day of organizing and cleaning at our house. So, I decided to share another Milne quote with Nancy. It goes like this: “Organizing is what you do before you do something, so that when you do it, it’s not all mixed up.” – A.A. Milne. Now, I can finally understand why Nancy seems to organize the house before she cleans. I never quite grasped her system until I read Milne’s quote.
Don’t even get me started on how she mows the lawn. Instead of mowing the lawn in sections, she jumps from one area to another, as if she’s confused about what to cut. When I asked her about this, her reply was “I never want to be too predictable or boring, Harmony. You should know that about me by now!”
I hope you have a week filled with pure bliss and contentment, savoring each moment of your life!

I think I may mow my lawn the way you do!
Good A.A. Milne quotes. Thanks!
Winnie the Pooh always makes me smile with simple but profound advice for navigating life. To add to Pooh’s thoughts about organizing, I once read that “Plan” comes before “Work” in the dictionary, which is why you should plan before plunging into a project such as organizing (or anything else). As a dog, you may not have to consider planning, but I know Nancy is always planning your meals, walks, grooming, etc. When I’m impatient, I try to remember the importance of the preparation, similar to how Nancy or her students practice before a performance, it takes to not only achieve excellence but to make it look easy. With that, I’m also off on an organizing and decluttering adventure in the kitchen. Happy organizing!
