While Greg is engrossed in an online woodturning event, I’ve decided to take the plunge and start my blog. We’ve been quite busy this week, moving various items from the garage to our shed. Fortunately, I’m able to accompany Nancy on her numerous trips downhill to the shed. Amidst all this organizational work, Nancy discovered her free weights. I believe some of the items she moves could be easily donated and saved from having to go to the shed. But hey, I am just a dog loving her company outside.
I believe she’s determined to complete all these organized tasks before renting a bassoon and repairing her saxophones. I eagerly anticipate the moment when her music will fill our new home. While she intends to clean out the furnace room to set up her practice room, I’m uncertain if that will happen unless she moves more to the shed. I know, I know, I’m giving away too much information. On a brighter note, she recently checked out a beautiful CD from the library. As mentioned in my previous blogs, I believe I’ve shared her passion for the cello, particularly Yo Yo Ma’s exceptional artistry. This new CD has Yo Yo Ma accompanied by Kathryn Stott on piano. The title is “Songs From the Arc of Life” with compositions by Saint-Saëns, Boulanger and Viadot-Garcia.
This past week would have been Nancy’s Mom’s birthday, along with her great-nephew. They shared the same birthday, which was incredibly special to her mother. Just as I cherish my memories of my living Mom, Nancy holds such fond memories of her Mom as well. There are many regrets that she didn’t hear more about her Mom’s stories from her childhood. Encourage your Mom or any other family member to share their stories with you.
