May 23, 2025: Day Two, A Week’s Worth of a Daily Dose of Peace
I was recently thrilled to hear a bird song that I had never encountered before. I can’t even reveal the name of the bird to you because I never managed to identify it. However, I’d like to share the daily dose of peace with you. Take a moment to step outside, sit down, and listen to the birds. Not only will you feel peace flow through your whole being, you will find yourself relaxing as you practice that inhaling and exhaling from yesterday. We must locate our bird books and websites to identify the diverse species of birds we are hearing sing.
I imagine if we put out bird feeders at our new home, we’ll attract even more birds. I wonder where those bird feeders are hidden? The idiom “for the birds” to me is extremely strange. According to Richard Barker “The saying “for the birds” is used to express how something is trivial, worthless, pointless, foolish, or unimportant.” If you ask me, that seems kind of strange because birds are worthwhile and important.
Birds gracefully glide through our world, oblivious to the opinions of others. As I listen to the enchanting melodies they produce, I yearn to decipher their language. They effortlessly bless our lives, singing their joyful chirps, offering us solace in their harmonious tunes. In my opinion, birds are like embellishments in music, adding a touch of finesse and charm whenever they sing and flutter by.
I hope the birds in your life bring you some peace today as you listen and observe them.
