December 20, 2024: Day 5 of The Ten Days of Christmas
For the 5th Day of my Ten Days of Christmas, allow me to celebrate with you the gift of children in our lives. As you know, I always enjoy any visitors in our home. But, there is something so very special about children. They tend to have such imaginations that spark joy and wonder all around them. When they are present in our home the “lighthearted” nature of my existence becomes doubled and we unite immediately!
We had the privilege to have quite a few children visit us this year, though I can not share all photos due to privacy. Some of the kids love playing fetch with me outside. They even try to race with me which of course, I humor them and TRY to slow down a bit. Eventually, their laughter stops me in my tracks because they are so incredibly cute. Then, Nancy says “We should go inside because Harmony is getting tired” and I go along with her advice. I am not about to remind her that once again, it is her who is tired.
When it is colder or dark outside, I am allowed to play fetch in the house. I must say I miss those cute little toddlers (relatives) that love rolling the ball down the hallway for me. But, I like having a few regular visitors like the included photo of some of my new friends. Some children get their “dog fix” when they visit me. (Gosh, I hope that they don’t go home glad that they don’t have a dog?!)
I realize this blog came out quite late on Day 5. Children are so so special that it is difficult for me to desribe how excited I become when they visit our home. This Christmas, allow the children to bring out your lighthearted self.
