December 19, 2024: Day 4 of The Ten Days of Christmas

December 19, 2024: Day 4 of The Ten Days of Christmas

It did not take me long to ponder  a topic for the 4th day of my Ten Days of Christmas.   If you  are perplexed by what it could be, simply look outside if you are in Minnesota.  I think once the sun rises there will be a lovely white blanket spread across our landscape.   There may even be enough snow for Nancy to make her snow angels appear in the fresh snowfall.   No, you won’t find me trying to duplicate such a thing. Besides, aren’t I the snow dog angel!?

The snow is really swirling and slamming against our house right now.  Perhaps this is the section in the Snow Concerto that is called the  Cadenza?!   According to the dictionary, a cadenza is “a virtuoso solo passage inserted into a movement in a concerto or other work, typically near the end.”   Not only is this cadenza full of virtuoso movements, it is leaving splashes of snow on our windows to signal all of us that Christmas is indeed, here.   About the time that I think the cadenza is almost over, it leaps into more technical challenges clearing spots on the deck for the notes to arrive in time for  the fermatas.   By now, you are wondering how a dog would know anything about a concerto or cadenzas?  Well, I do live with a musician and we do watch concerts on TV, so VOILA!
Snowballs instead of my orange ball today perhaps?    Don’t be silly, I would never see it in this white semi-snowstorm.  Take a look at the snow drifts outside of our front door.   From the photo Nancy took of me this morning, you can also see that the wind was so fierce that it created spots for me to do my duties (TMI?).
On this snowy day,  enjoy the snow and may you all be safe in your travels!
