I love the  outdoor Christmas lights that seem to magically appear on so many homes in December.  While we have a small Christmas tree and some decorations inside our home, we have not put outside lights up for several years for various reasons. But, I remember  at our previous home, Greg and Nancy’s brother Mike would decorate a plum tree with some beautiful blue lights.  Even though very few people passed our home, they always said that if it brought them joy to see the blue lights.  That was enough reason to decorate.

What are your traditions for light decorations?   I think what is important is that people put the lights up indoors or outdoors for the right reasons.   You already know this about Nancy; she doesn’t do many things by guilt trips.   I nudged Nancy when I saw the neighbor’s lights; but, she said they are buried somewhere from the move last year. Because of this and that she was unwilling to dig them out of storage in the garage. Maybe next year we can put those blue lights on our birch tree near our deck?

While I know this will sound “sappy” according to human terms, why don’t we all try to be a bright LIGHT in this world this Christmas season.    I try to be that all year long (if you haven’t noticed)!  Go out and shine your light to be someone else’s bright spot today or allow them to see their own light ignited in them. (I told you it would be a bit  sappy!)
