This morning, I woke up with an upset stomach. I know, us dogs are rarely sick, so even I was unsure of any possible remedy. We have our morning routine. I eat while Nancy commences her quiet time. But, I did not even eat this morning. I remained quiet on my spot on the couch observing Nancy sip coffee. Then, she heard my stomach growl which I was trying to camouflage during her coveted quiet time. Of course, she came over to me to hug and comfort me. Soon, my stomach ache began to disappear.
After Nancy comforted me simply by telling me how special I am, I knew we were both good therapists! There is certain information that I may not share on my blog (privacy issues); but, let me at least share with you that I have been a true therapy dog lately. Seriously, it is a shame that I don’t have the piece of paper that gives me permission to go everywhere with my humans. I behave as well as any dog that has gone through the therapy classes.
Please don’t misinterpret me because I know that many people and dogs that earn degrees and certificates are well deserved. Just saying that some people and dogs are just naturals and don’t need the paper to say they are knowledgeable or trained in a certain field. Nancy gave an example of someone she knows that has a doctorate in music, though the person is a horrible musician. The woman is not even a descent conductor for high school musicians. On the other hand, she knows exceptional musicians in major orchestras who never even received a degree in any college. So there I go, justifying that I am a natural therapy dog!
