Day 6: Ten Days of Listening to Your Pet’s Wisdom and Advice
Explore new places, though may I suggest don’t make your dog go with you into a public bathroom. I know it is trivial advice for Day 6 of Ten Days of Listening to Your Pet’s Wisdom and Advice. I am always thrilled when my home companions plan their errands so I can tag along. However, next time I think they will abide by my advice to not force me go into the public bathroom at Home Depot. Nancy is so protective of me that she brought me into that tiny space. Even after I backed out of the stall, you would think she would let me wait outside? But NO…..I thought, oh crap! (whoops, dogs aren’t suppose to do puns!)
The other places we went yesterday I heard the usual. “Oh, is that a standard poodle, isn’t she pretty!” and “She is so well behaved, would she like a treat?” and on and on those comments continued. When was the last time you told your companions that they are well behaved and beautiful? I suppose I need to go places with Nancy to remind myself that she really isn’t exaggerating the truth when she tells me I am so pretty, etc. People and dogs (pets) often do become what they are told they are, after all, right?
Anyhow, explore new places, that is my advice today! My list includes some places that don’t allow dogs ****sigh! I suppose if they don’t allow dogs, they are not worthy of my attention. I think a patio that allows dogs could be fun, especially if they have a dog menu? A dog park would be fun, since I have never visited one. Of course, I have attended a few outdoor music events. There I go again, rambling on and not making too much sense. So, I may not be sharing much wisdom on this ten day adventure. Be sure that a wise dog will not divulge all of their material. Besides, some wisdom, you humans are not ready to comprehend yet!

I’m writing to you from Big Sky, MT where we *are* exploring a new place. And guess what? There are tons of dogs here exploring this beautiful place with their owners! And many of the dogs aren’t even on leashes! Here’s hoping you too, Harmony, soon get to explore some new places, other than a bathroom stall!
Thanks so much for all of your great comments (all the time)!! I have enjoyed all of the photos of your adventures in Montana via Nancy and FB. You are so photogenic Dana! Safe Travels, Harmony
Awww – thank you!
Harmony are you serious? You have NEVER visited a dog park? You and Nancy might make some new friends! What do you look for when making friends? I guess your name says it all!
Hey Mike, Maybe when you come to visit me, you can take me for a run to explore for a dog park? I miss you Mike! Have an awesome week! Harmony
Harmony – you ARE very beautiful. Those of us who have been blessed to live with standard poodles know the attention they get whenever they are out and about. Everyone wants to pet them and talk about them and admire them. My blue standard, Ben, was a very busy therapy and reading-to-kids dog and he always was greeted with admiration. Having a standard spoils you for “ordinary” dogs, for sure! If you want to let these comments go to your head be my guest. You beautiful creatures deserve all that admiration and praise! I totally love my mini poodle and my golden retriever, but I DO sort of miss all the attention that happens with you standards! I haven’t even touched on how smart you all are, but I won’t overdo the praise today . Love you all!
