Therapy Dog Time: May 24, 2024

Today, I really felt like I was a great therapy dog!   While Nancy mowed the lawn, I was able to fetch the ball at the same time.   OK, I have a confession to make before my whole story today.    I am rather annoying to Greg if I am not outside with Nancy.  Eventually, I am allowed outside  after I bark until I get my way.  Don’t even try to tell me that you have never used some  method to get your way.  Anyhow, during our fetch games, the rope suddenly got swallowed by the lawn mower.   Nancy is always so careful, so I don’t know how that even happened?  It was so fast.   She tipped the lawn mower over to untangle my rope to find the rope uncut by the blade.

Well, because she tipped the lawn mower over on the carburetor side, it would not start.  She even went and found the starter fluid to start it, but nothing.   Then, she sat on the brick and cried….yup, not too often lately do I see this.   Of course, I kicked into my therapy dog mode.   As she looked at me, I reminded her that it is just a lawn mower and to be patient.    By this time, I summoned Greg to come and help as I know nothing about lawn mowers.   We both just let her have her five minutes of melt down and remained quiet.  Greg gently reminded her to wait before trying to start it again.

Needless to say, when a box arrived from King Arthur Baking company, I knew some baking would also be therapeutic! I love it when Nancy bakes even if I can’t indulge in her treats. Whatever happened to those dog treat  special pans she bought to prepare dog treats?    We both thought about those dog treats and concurred that we will make them soon!   There I go again, sidetracking what was in the box.   Ah yes, there were quite a few gluten-free items and the lemon juice  powder for duh, lemon cookies that we are about to bake.  OK, not we, but I cheer her on in the kitchen!   Strange, I don’t even know the taste of lemon?   I may have to at least have a small sample of the lemon cookies to remedy my lack of knowledge of lemon taste!    HA!   Who am I fooling, I don’t get human food.

Right now, however, it is time to bake some gluten-free blueberry mini muffins.  (By the time I am finishing this blog, the lemon cookies are already made.)  We have the privilege for those two adorable little girls staying with us again today and one, needs to have gluten-free.   We were up long before the rains began and once again, the sunrise was breathtaking!    Take notice of the rain clouds in the photo.   Can you see the crocodile in the clouds too?    Imagine, if only you can imagine, you are alive and well!
