Did you notice the beautiful smell of the rain later today? As we drove to do an errand. I hung my head out the window and it was pure delight. We noticed that far beyond us, in the distance were dark dark clouds. We knew the rain would eventually arrive. But, as we are driving, we started to drive into sunshine and immediately I thought ah where is the rainbow? Isn’t that just how we are, we are always looking for rainbows and we can imagine them even if they are not there?!
While we were unable to see the fantastic eclipse, we marvel each morning at the gorgeous sunrises. I wonder how many people realize that they don’t look up in the sky often enough? Why wait until an eclipse? I sit here now on the deck, staring at the clouds. There are many cloud formations, no rain yet. The variety of clouds are positively gorgeous! I am only sad that I cannot take a photo right now because Nancy has the camera.
Here it is already the next day and a new bird song has intrigued me this morning. The ornamentation of this bird’s song is unfamiliar to me. The grace notes three times to the same note followed by a minor 6th note is mesmerizing to me. Good thing I memorized the sounds because that bird has now faded, though the echo is pulsing in my head. Time to nudge Nancy to research these new bird songs outside of our house.
If you are not listening to the birds around you today, my advice is simple. Listen to your surroundings!
