Day 6, Spreading Joy

Day 6, Spreading Joy

Today, I want you to think about the last time you made a magnificent difference in someone’s life?   Maybe it was that smile, phone call or a note sent via snail mail?  Or, when was the last time you were bold enough to leave your comfort zone  to share some kindness?    Obviously, I am rather limited in what I can do, so I have to constantly nudge my human companions to spread joy.   Day 6 is to  be bold to spread joy.

As you already know, we moved this fall so my cookie monster Nancy has been bold to deliver cookies to some of the neighbors.   Some she has never met.    While it would be easier for us to sit back and wait until they welcome us, that didn’t happen.   It’s not like we want to see them regularly for coffee or something; but, just be bold to introduce ourselves.    By being bold to introduce ourselves to anyone, we must be ready to accept rejection.

Taking risks or being bold  to spread joy often will spread more joy to ourselves than  to the receivers.  Gosh, I have so many dogs in this neighborhood to introduce myself.   I will need to remember my own words if they don’t seem receptive to the “new dog on the block” because hello, I am kind of a good looking princess!  So while I know that being bold can be a bit scary, I tend to  take my risks when I meet the new neighborhood dogs.
