Day 9: Spreading Joy

Day 9: Spreading Joy

After some friends visited the other day, Day Nine of  Spreading Joy is a no brainer.     Invite some friends over to spread joy!  Seriously, I have never had so much fun with any guests at any home.   Once you invite your guests over, make sure they know you are thrilled to be in their presence.  I felt like I was the guest in my own home as my new friend, Sue kept talking  and playing with me….

Day 8: Spreading Joy

Day 8: Spreading Joy

To spread joy on day eight  of  the “Ten Days of Spreading Joy”  is the most obvious from a dog’s perspective.  No, it is not giving others treats and no, it is not even playing a ball game with your friends.   Come on, you know what it is!    Going for a walk will always spread joy!  Why just yesterday as Nancy  was shaking out the rugs out on the deck (and I was watching through the window pane)…

Day 7: Spreading Joy

Day 7: Spreading Joy

I suppose you are wondering what day seven will entail to spread joy? I am learning that many of the days to spread joy  are intertwined.  Not all of the joy spreaders can include me to assist in the mission.   I can try to change that. On Christmas, Nancy and Greg went to an assisted-living home to sing, without me. Even though I don’t have the paperwork for being a licensed therapy dog, I could be such a joy…

Day 6, Spreading Joy

Day 6, Spreading Joy

Today, I want you to think about the last time you made a magnificent difference in someone’s life?   Maybe it was that smile, phone call or a note sent via snail mail?  Or, when was the last time you were bold enough to leave your comfort zone  to share some kindness?    Obviously, I am rather limited in what I can do, so I have to constantly nudge my human companions to spread joy.   Day 6 is to…

Day 4, Spreading Joy, Surprise Phone Call

Day 4, Spreading Joy, Surprise Phone Call

Tonight,  we were pleasantly surprised by a FaceTime video sent to us by Nancy‘s niece, Nicole. Her son Caleb, was reading out loud to us a book, titled “Hairy, Hairy Poodle” by Marilyn Singer.  We were amazed at what a brilliant reader Caleb has become as a first grader.   Caleb was not even aware that his kindness was spreading joy to us! Actually, we got a double dose of spreading joy when we FaceTime called Caleb to thank him…

Day 3 of Spreading Joy, Hugs

Day 3 of Spreading Joy, Hugs

It is such a joy to divulge to you my secrets of spreading joy! Other than when I am hungry, I try to put everyone else’s needs before my own. Usually, all it involves is my keen intuition to sniff out possible joy magnets. Have you ever caught a glimpse of someone looking rather gloomy? If so, what did you do about it? Day 3 of spreading joy is another priceless gift, given freely! HUG someone! I hug my companions…

Day 2, Spreading Joy By Being Present!

Day 2, Spreading Joy By Being Present!

Since I am back after my brief hiatus of  Nancy writing day  one of  the series on Spreading Joy, I decided that I should do a bit of research before I jump into this new assignment.   (If you may recall, it was her idea, not mine.)   So, I cheated a bit and found this on the computer of spreading joy.   You see, I already thought that I spread joy by writing my blog. Helena Green wrote, “The…

Harmony is Back Already!

Harmony is Back Already!

Yup,  this is Harmony and I would like to say that I will be taking over my blog starting DAY TWO of Ten Days of Spreading Joy!   I guess I only needed a few days off, so I will finish my Day Two, later today.       Sorry, but I just think that Nancy was sharing too much and I prefer to keep my blog more lighthearted  HA!

Day One: Spreading Joy by Nancy

Day One: Spreading Joy by Nancy

In Harmony’s last blog, she took a vote about me (Nancy)  writing a series of the Ten Days of Spreading Joy.   While many voted “yes” there was a great comment from Miguel suggesting that Harmony write a series on the dogs she meets on her walks.   I am certain that Harmony took note of that Miguel, so thanks for the wise suggestion. Today, is Day One of the Ten Days of Spreading Joy.   I know that my…

Please Vote – Read Today’s Blog! December 14, 2023

Contrary to what some of you may think, Nancy does not write my blogs, though at times I listen to her input.   When I seem to have “writer’s block” she may occasionally suggest a subject; but, like her, I don’t cave under pressure (well, most of the time).  So she suggested that I do some type of 12 days of Christmas Cheer right now, instead, I will hopefully spread happy cheer all year. If you think I write like…

December 6, 2023

I suppose by now you have read Nancy’s very own Thanksgiving note?  Since her own writing, she has managed to finally grind down my toenails and shave my paws and face.  Talk about exciting news, huh!   I do anticipate our walks will be resumed soon since her foot is finally showing some signs of healing.    I am so eager to search for other dogs in our new neighborhood. Actually, now that I think about it, I’ve seen a…
