Ten Days of Random Kindness: Day 6

Ten Days of Random Kindness: Day 6

The New Oxford American Dictionary defines kindness as “the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.”   It occurred to me that I should have shared that definition on day one of my Ten Day of Random Kindness. It’s not like I had to look up  the definition of kindness.  Because, I really operate on being kind to others, even when they snub me. Contrary to what some people conjure up for a standard poodle’s image, often, I prove them wrong.  Truly, I am not your regular dog.

Day 6 of a random kindness act is to be kind  by not judging people!   Whether people misjudge poodles.  rottweilers  or humans, be kind by not judging, PERIOD!   “Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always”  That is one quote with the origins being rather questionable.  I can only tell you that it is not my own.

Be kind by not judging people that have no compassion because they may not know compassion.  Be kind by not judging people that are not sensitive for they may not ever have suffered at all.    Also, be kind by not judging those that carry bitterness  for their bitterness may have them stuck.   You see where this is going, right?   I am not just a dog, I am a dog that cares deeply for the humans I have been assigned to on this earth.

If there is one thing I have learned by being  a dog, it is that I don’t judge.  It just is not part of my nature so this random kindness day of being kind by not judging comes naturally for me.     I tend to love everyone and if they don’t seem interested in me, “bof” (as the French say, according to Nancy), I simply am kind to them because they may not know kindness from any other dogs or humans that they have encountered.
