Klondike Dog Derby weekend has arrived; but unfortunately, I am unable to tag along with Nancy for any  of the events. Personally, I think it would be fascinating to meet the Mushers as well as their Huskie dogs.  Friday’s event is  “Hug a Huskie” which I think is way cool! Hopefully, they won’t be squished during the hugging sessions because their lungs need to be in tip-top shape for the 40  mile race on Saturday. I speak from experience, totally aware of being hugged too tight at times from my home companions.

We all need a mission in this life and for Huskie dogs, they thrive to run these races.   If you are even wondering my mission, then you have not been reading my blogs. Some dogs work physically for their companions, while others (like me) have more of a mental work load. Of course, just because a dog does physical work, doesn’t mean that they don’t provide mental therapy as well!

My incredible Vet, Dr. Jackie, is the lead Vet for the Klondike Dogsled Race weekend. I am so proud of her. She has a charismatic personality which puts both humans and pets at ease.  Without a doubt, those Huskies run a great race after Dr. Jackie spends time with them. She is a positive influence whereas she is serving!
