Ten Days of Gratitude, Day 5, December 18, 2022
Here we are already at Day 5 of the Ten Days of Gratitude and the more I write about my gratitude, the more grateful I become. Some of you will cringe when I say my 5th day captures my gratitude for SNOW! Originally, snow was not even on my list until the obvious kept appearing before my every moment. You must keep in mind that I am not the one who has to shovel it or plow it; but, I do have my own way of “plowing” through the snow. Of course, I am able to supervise all of the shoveling of my maze in the backyard and more outdoor time is always welcome.
I am grateful for snow because when there is more snow, I tend to go on more walks. It just so happens that I have a ton of energy and if I can’t be running after my various orange balls, I have to work off that energy in other ways. Why not walk it off and besides, my companions need to be moving more too! Keep in mind, I am grateful for snow, NOT the ice we encounter on our walks. But hey, we are focusing on the positive here, not the negative, so away with the subject of ice.
Mostly, I am grateful for snow because it is so beautiful and peaceful! I love walking when snow is falling and I can catch snowflakes on my tongue. Often, we just sit on a rock chair nearby in awe of the beauty of the snow. We love enjoying the beauty of the snow fallen as much as the snowflakes actually falling. I will never be able to glide across the snow on skis as Nancy claims it is quite heavenl
Anyhow, if you live in a location that receives snow, I hope you find yourself grateful for SNOW today! Maybe you can even have a snowball fight with someone today to help yourself feel like a kid again. We all need to feel that “kid” in us!
