Gosh, once we get accustomed to daylight saving’s time, I think it is quite nice?!   There seems to be controversy about the whole idea of enjoying those extra hours of daylight.   I say, why wouldn’t people want to enjoy those added daylight hours?  During spring, it is lighter out earlier and stays light out longer.

This reminds me when  Nancy reminisces about practicing saxophone at 5:30 AM in either soundproof rooms or the milk house on her parent’s farm.  It was those short walks to the milk house often with her Dad that were priceless.   Her Dad and brothers would go out to milk the cows and she would go to work on saxophone.   Often it was pitch black out as they they walked to the  milk house; but, often there were gorgeous sunrises on the horizon.   Such precious memories with her Dad.

By now, you are thinking how did I go from day light savings to practicing in a milk house?  Well, I guess I have inherited Nancy’s random thought process. HA!  It is all good because one can never be sure what will trigger good memories and gosh, we certainly need to share more of good thoughts with each other even more these days.  So, as you are ruminating about the world news this week, choose to focus on the good in your lives, not the bad.   Pray continually.

  1. I love daylight savings time! And George the cat barely noticed the change, which makes me think it’s more a human issue that so many complain and make such a fuss over it. It’s always fun to hear Nancy’s farm stories as they remind me of my childhood growing up on the farm. I look back now with gratitude and fondness, but did not appreciate it growing up. Time definitely alters our perceptions. Hope you are able to get out and enjoy this beautiful spring-like weather and celebrate the Vernal Equinox on Sunday!
