3 Raccoons and a Visitor: October 17, 2021

It is an absolutely gorgeous Autumn day here in Minnesota!  While I  realize that I could nap outside, I am in my usual napping spot on the couch.   OK, so I like to nap with Greg, is that so unusual?    Nancy raked a lot of leaves this morning while playing fetch the ball with me so we have been outside a lot today.   I think after my nap with Greg, I get to go on another walk with Nancy.    Oh, did I tell you that a few mornings ago, after the first sighting of a raccoon earlier in the week, we saw THREE raccoons take off under the fence.     I know, never a dull moment around here!

Speaking of excitement, last night  we had one of Nancy’s friends over for dinner.  I had never met her friend in the past, so I was eager to hear all of their chattering.    Even though her friend  prefers cats, she humored me and played catch the ball.    The conversation flowed on freely until the wee hours of 1:15 AM.    We were able to  sleep in past 7:00 this morning, since it is Saturday.  And yes, we searched carefully for more raccoons before we went to bed.   Those raccoons, they better stay away if they know what is good for them!

Here it  is already Sunday and I have not completed my short blog.  Let’s see, what else is new this week?   Oh, we went for a short drive in search of beautiful tree colors.   Our conclusion was that the best colors are right here in our neighborhood.  So, let me end my blog today by encouraging you to either go for a walk  or sit outside and enjoy the beauty of the changing of the seasons.

  1. Your week sounds like it was filled with beauty, Harmony – the beauty of nature, the beauty of friendship, and the beauty of companionship. We took your advice and got outside to enjoy the gorgeous leaves on numerous occasions! I mentioned it to my neighbor when we were walking this morning and she said that she didn’t think the colors were as beautiful as they had been in past years. I wondered – why must we compare? Can’t we just enjoy beauty the beauty we have right now? And that’s my mantra – enjoy the moment. Enjoy the beauty inherent in each day without comparison. And we should do that with people too! Enjoy the week and hope you’re enjoying this amazing day!

  2. 🍃🍂Beautiful!
Not much color here in Ohio, yet. We are still green. It has been unusually warm here, but today much cooler! Maybe our leaves will begin to turn. I miss that!
    Have a nice day!

  3. Harmony – the only thing more beautiful than those leaves is YOU! Keep on enjoying life as you do – it is a wonderful inspiration to the rest of us to do likewise.
