New Homemade Dog Treats: June 15, 2021
Sometimes one has to write when inspired, even if it was just two days ago since my recent blog! I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw a dog treat pan pulled out of a box today. Seriously, this pan was made simply for dog treats with the shapes of, you guessed it, dog bones. Rumor has it that I am quite fussy about my dog treats. The ones I do tend to like, well, let’s just say, they aren’t cheap. So, Nancy set out on the adventure to find a recipe that I may like and I must say, she scored on the recipe that she chose.
It is not a secret that most dogs love peanut butter. The recipe that was made with that new dog treat pan had peanut butter, cornmeal, oatmeal and eggs. The smells of the enticingly aromatic dog treats left me a bit spellbound. So, as you can see, I waited by the oven door, eagerly anticipating with excitement the outcome. I think you can understand my frustration to learn that the treats had to cool for 15 minutes after baking!
I suppose you want a full review of the dog treats, right? Please keep in mind, I am not a big connoisseur on dog treats, since I don’t get too many. Well, that is not actually accurate, I don’t like many that have been bought for me. So far, the fresh baked treats are crisp, yet not hard and crumbly to be just perfect for adding to my other dog food. (Don’t judge me because I am sure you add stuff to your food too!) So, I got both a new dog treat today and a new flavor for my other regular dog food. It was a good day!
