A dog even needs a good laugh once in awhile and I sure had my share today. Our refrigerator is not working, so Nancy bought a mini-fridge since the repair person could not come until later in the week. I felt quite honored that she included FreshPet snacks for the priority items to go in the little fridge! So, all was well and I thought the broken larger fridge would be fine until the professionals arrived? But, Nancy had other plans with that fridge while it sat idle.
Instead of letting the broken fridge sit, Nancy decided to take the back off of the fridge to clean and troubleshoot. I learned today that I really don’t like things torn apart in my house. OK, so it was just a fridge, but all the shelves had to be cleaned and disinfected. My quiet afternoon nap was cut short by the noise of the vacuum cleaner and the smell of disinfectants.
Are you wondering why all of this made me laugh? Well, think about what the alternative is? Nope, instead of complaining I just laughed at even the idea that Nancy thought she could fix that large fridge. I was really humored when she watched some youtube videos on troubleshooting fridge repairs. Finally, it was time for her to teach saxophone on-line again and I have never been so happy to listen to her students as I was today.

Good for you trying to fix the refrigerator. I have taken apart 3 different refrigerators at my 3 properties now. Usually itโs an issue of the defrost system which fails to keep the water and ice in the freezer instead of all over the floor. Last week it was a washing machine agitator repair. Yay for YouTube!
Go Nancy! It’s good to be curious, and that’s exactly what I thought of when I read this story. I mean, what have you got to lose, right? The refrigerator already doesn’t work, so it’s not like you’re going to ruin it. Though, from a dog’s perspective, I know that when there’s a vacuum involved, Ike is either barking at it or running to hide in his kennel. And it is certainly disruptive to a nice, quiet afternoon nap! I do hope that the sweet sounds of Nancy’s students were able to quickly lull you back to sleep Louie! Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend ๐
