There are days when I just have more bounce to my prance. I even surprised myself the other day as I was forgetting that I am quite an older dog now. Yup, I was leaping through the snow as if I was the “Energizer Bunny” instead of a 13 year old dog. Perhaps, some of you readers can relate? We have all seen those stories of someone that seems to glow with an exuberant personality all the time, right?! We stop and think, how can they be so positive all the time? Not to brag or anything, but it was at that moment, I too realized that I can choose to remain as my image – Lighthearted Louie!

We have our new Christmas tree up thanks partially to me! It was that very playful dance in the new snow that helped jolt my owners into the Christmas spirit. They watched me and thought outloud, “Gee, if Louie can still jump up for joy, so can we!” I almost thought that I had little elves that visited my house this week. Soon, the snowman collection was displayed, along with the garland and manger scene on the fireplace mantle.

I am now going to give subtle hints for the need of dog friendly Christmas cookies this year. I don’t see any reason why us dogs should not be able to indulge in some delectable treats at Christmas? It isn’t as if we ask for much around here, except for an occasional change of treats. Actually, remember that our favorite Christmas gifts from our humans are walks, love and simply TIME spent with them. Isn’t that what all of you humans need most too, for Christmas – time with loved ones wrapped up in love that keeps on giving all year long!
