September 30, 2016

It is not unusual for Nancy to suffocate me with hugs and telling me how much she loves me, but “enough is enough already” as you humans say, right?!  No,  I must say, I don’t quite agree with that at all because I never grow tired of her hugs and her constant display of her affection for us dogs.  Besides, you probably would hug me too if you saw the growth on my eye that will be removed next week by Dr. Jackie Piepkorn.  Months ago, my growth was checked out and it seemed OK, but then, it grew and off to the Vet we went again last week.

Anyhow, so as you read my blogs you will soon discover that both Nancy and I are very much aware that we are aging.  We don’t seem to hurry on our walks like we once did as I keep reminding Nancy that it is vital to relax while strolling with us poodles.   I really do love this fall season, all the swishing through the leaves and the gorgeous colors on all the trees.  It is that short season to prepare our jumping and fetching skills to be able to continue such fun in the winter snow season.    You know, I came to Minnesota from Toronto in the midst of all that snow.  Yup,   I think I can dig up some photos of playing in the snow as a youngster.

I was a pretty cute little guy back then. cimg0936 cimg1029

Now, I am suppose to act my age, but that comes naturally while I feel my arthritis settling in more and more.   When Harmony visited (Jill Lurye’s  standard poodle puppy) I decided that it was just as important to mentally feel young  as the physical health.   I can make all kinds of excuses for not being 100% physically in shape now – I am sure you can too!?cimg1047

After I saw so much on TV these past days about the Ryder Cup Golf Tournament, I had to look up what Golf is to see if I would ever want to add that ball to my list of fetch balls?   I decided,  probably like most other dogs, it is not ideal for playing fetch and besides, the game moves way too slow for me.   Hmmm…..that is probably why you don’t see any standard poodles on the side lines at that event also, just boring to us.   (Seriously, Nancy did not tell me to write that, but she did say she thinks that tennis is far more interesting – well, duh, we can handle tennis balls so “there you go!”  Please forgive me if I am offending any Golf enthusiasts.   I just say it like it is after all, because I don’t have to worry!  Remember, we are unconditionally loved at this house.
